Road safety awareness Programme 2017

To improve student’s road safety an awareness Programme was organized for the Kikanians by the Coimbatore Traffic Authority today at Sarojini Nataraj Auditorium. Nearly 100 students participated and acquired knowledge attending the programme. The session was presidedover by Mr. Sadhasivam -Inspector of Police (Traffic west), Mr. Vinakaya Moorthy – Safety training officer, Mr. Navaneetha Krishnan- Sub Inspector (B2 Traffic Police Station) and Mr.Raj Kumar-Sub Inspector (C 3 Traffic Police Stations). To begin with Mr.Vinakaya Moorthy emphasized the importance of truth –“Be truthful. All righteousness is contained in this one commandment.” He addressed the students stating that Road safety education plays a vital role in shaping the attitude and behavior of children thereby ensuring that they become a responsible driver, passenger, pedestrian, and cyclist. A small demonstration regarding crossing of road was depicted by few students. He explained the value of following traffic signals to avoid the occurrence of accidents. He specified few traffic sign boards and explained its significance. He conveyed the importance of wearing helmet and seat belt. The students made a vow that they will follow the safety rules and create awareness among everyone they come across. They also promised to serve the nation with utmost loyalty and truthfulness.
