World Ozone Day

World ozone day was celebrated by Grade 6 on Sep 16th, 2021at 8:45 am. Due to the Pandemic situation, the celebration was done through virtual mode. The theme of the world ozone day 2021 is Montreal Protocol – keeping us, our food and vaccines cool.World Ozone Day is observed on September 16, every year. It is celebrated to spread awareness among people about the depletion of the Ozone Layer and search for possible solutions to preserve it.
The awareness celebration was taken over by Retheesh and Anjanaa of grade 6B. The assembly commenced with the Morning Prayer by Dhisha .S of 6A which is believed to provide peace and serenity to our minds and souls followed by motivating thought and the news headlines. Balashrilakshana of 6B gave a wonderful speech on what is ozone layer and how to protect it which was followed by pledge to preserve ozone layer. Alisha of 6A came out with lovely poem on Ozone. With the motive of educating the children, a poster depicting the importance and significance of ozone day was created.
The PPT presentation by ShrisivaHariini of 6A ,covered the importance of day. The Coordinator Mrs. Jayalakshmi addressed the gathering and created awareness about ozone layer. Finally a video on why is ozone day is celebrated every year and mainly what is Montreal Protocol, was shown to children .The assembly concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
