Yoga With V. Nanammal (yoga patti)

Kikani Vidhya Mandir Senior Secondary School students celebrated International day of yoga on June 18, 2018 in the school premises. Special assembly was arranged by grade 12 in the school. The main objective of World yoga day benefits, importance, and origin of yoga was discussed among the students. The special attraction of the day was the performance of our Chief Guest, Nanammal Amma one of India’s oldest yoga gurus. She is 99 years old, her objective is to create awareness among women, mainly girl students, about yoga techniques by going to various educational institutions. Amma gave an impressive demonstration of astounding asana on the occasion of International yoga day. Few students interacted with Nanammal Amma and got informed about food habits, life style, secret of energy, daily routine. The main aim was to raise awareness and ignite a passion for fitness and yoga among the students. Principal mam of Matric Higher Secondary School Mrs. Latha Sekar said that yoga provides mental and physical strength to people, we can improve our life by practicing yoga. It enables us to live a healthy life. Thus, she urged the children to practice yoga which will help create over all harmony of body and mind.

Programme concluded with Various Advance Asanas demonstrated by our Kikani students from class 6-12.
