BOOK FAIR AND ART EXHIBITION VISIT

July 23, 2024

The eighth edition of the Coimbatore Book Fair was inaugurated at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, marking a significant event for book lovers and enthusiasts. Kikani Vidhya Mandir’s Grade 8 students, around 100 in total, visited the book fair on 23rd July 2024. It was a vibrant and enlightening event aimed at promoting reading habits and providing access to a wide range of books from various genres and authors. The students enthusiastically explored numerous book stalls, immersing themselves in the world of literature.

The fair featured around 250 stalls, including art books, spiritual books like the Ramayana and Dasavatar, literary classics such as Geetanjali, motivational books, public speaking guides, general knowledge books, collections of fairy tales, posters, flashcards, alphabet books, and a variety of stationery items.

Adding to this exciting journey, the students visited an art and craft exhibition organized by Siruthai at Suguna Kalyana Mandapam. This exhibition showcased contemporary works of art, including handicrafts, leather crafts, and textiles, enriching the students’ appreciation of diverse art forms.

As Maya Angelou once said, “Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.” This experience undoubtedly fostered a lifelong love for reading and an appreciation for the arts among the students.
