Kikani Vidhya Mandir organized a Doctor’s Day event where esteemed doctors addressed the students on various health-related topics, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health and habits. Dr. Priya Dharshini, Pediatrician, highlighted that hard work and sincerity lead to success and stressed the importance of good health, stating, “Strong body, strong health.”
Dr. Balamurugan, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeon, discussed the importance of a balanced diet, the dangers of overeating, and the necessity of exercise. He also led an interactive session on the health issues related to junk food consumption.
Ms. Sharmeetha, Dietician, explained the nutritional differences between healthy and unhealthy food, noting that junk food is quick and easy to prepare but often unhealthy, leading to long-term issues like obesity. The event also included discussions on the use of gadgets, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages, with recommendations to limit screen time to 20 minutes and turn off gadgets at least 2 hours before bedtime to avoid health issues. The importance of a balanced diet, healthy breakfast, proper chewing for digestion, and good sleep habits were also emphasized, along with the negative impact of sugary drinks on sleep quality. The significance of regular physical activity was highlighted, emphasizing its role in maintaining good health. The event was highly informative and interactive, providing valuable insights into a healthy lifestyle, with practical tips and engaging sessions making it both educational and enjoyable.
