STUDENT TRIP TO MANALI

A group of 63 students, accompanied by 7 staff members, embarked on an exciting tour to Manali, departing from Coimbatore on 19th September 2024. After arriving in Chandigarh via Bengaluru on 20th September at 7:30 AM, the group began their scenic journey to Manali, enjoying breakfast and lunch en route. The breathtaking natural beauty, especially while traveling alongside the Sutlej and Beas rivers and passing through 14 tunnels, made the journey unforgettable.

During the trip, the group visited notable landmarks like the Atal Tunnel, a 9-kilometer-long marvel located at an altitude of 10,000 feet. This high-altitude road tunnel, which connects Manali to the Lahaul-Spiti Valley, has been a game-changer for travel and defense logistics since its inauguration in 2020. The students also had the opportunity to experience the stunning views of the Rohtang Pass, situated at 13,050 feet, where they enjoyed a thrilling bike ride.

In the evening, the group explored Manali’s vibrant Mall Road, immersing themselves in the local culture and shopping for traditional handicrafts. Visits to a shawl factory outlet and a Tibetan monastery added to the rich experience.

The adventure continued in Kasol, a serene village nestled in Himachal Pradesh’s Parvati Valley, known for its scenic beauty and Israeli influence. The students enjoyed camping, trekking, and bonfires while soaking in the picturesque views and experiencing the local culture.

A highlight of the trip was the visit to the Manikaran Temple, where Lord Shiva, Rama, and Sita are worshipped. The temple is also known for its unique hot water spring, where water boils at 100°C, allowing rice to be cooked by simply dipping it into the spring.

After an enriching and adventurous journey, the group headed back to Coimbatore
