Deesan Farm visit

Grade 9 & 10 Agriculture students visited Deesan Organic Farm as an educational trip.
Students observed various sustainable farming practices, including crop rotation and organic fertilization. They gained knowledge on the use of advanced irrigation systems and precision agriculture technologies and how this technology enhanced efficiency and water conservation.
Students were briefed on coconut oil extraction and were taken to the Ghee Production Unit. They also had a chance to visit the Animal Husbandry Unit and Manure Production Unit.
A practical session was also scheduled for the students. They planted Papaya saplings in the pre-prepared plants and transplanted saplings from pro-trays and planted them on the farm.
The visit gave ample insight to students on organic farming and how to preserve the ecosystem by conserving biodiversity. Overall, the visit provided valuable insights into modern, environmentally conscious farming methods.
