Design Thinking Workshop

The Design Thinking Workshop, organized by the Ministry of Education, highlighted the transformative role of design thinking in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in education and innovation.

* Dr. Elangovan (Ministry of Innovation Cell): Introduced eco-conscious design practices and initiatives like KAPILA and the School Innovation Council.

* Ms. Rupa Chakravarthy (Director, Suncity School, Gurugram ): Explored the integration of design thinking with NEP, focusing on equity, inclusion, and conceptual learning.

* Dr. Ajantha Sen (IDC,IIT, Bombay Design Thinking Expert): Provided insights into the evolution of design and practical approaches for adopting design thinking.

Interactive Sessions:

Participants engaged in hands-on activities, including:

* Problem-solution analysis using real-world scenarios.

* Product design studies with a focus on sustainability.

* Toy-making activities to enhance creativity and simplify learning.

Themes and Outcomes:

The workshop emphasized sustainability, innovative problem-solving, and experiential learning. It introduced a 160-hour design thinking curriculum for Grades 9-12 to develop sensory, cognitive, and social awareness skills.
