Grade 10 students from Kikani Vidhya Mandir recently visited Sakthi Sugar to gain firsthand experience in sugar production, offering them practical insights into transforming raw materials, such as sugar beet and sugar cane, into refined sugar. Through this visit, students observed key stages of the production process, including extraction, purification using lime and carbon dioxide, evaporation, and crystallization. This hands-on experience allowed them to see chemistry concepts in action, bridging classroom theory with real-world applications. Additionally, students gained valuable exposure to industrial operations, workflows, machinery, and safety protocols, enhancing their understanding of large-scale production practices. Engaging with industry experts fostered critical thinking and inquiry skills, as students asked questions and discussed the processes. The visit also emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in manufacturing, encouraging students to consider environmental impacts in industrial contexts. Overall, this visit connected academic concepts with tangible experiences, inspiring curiosity, deepening subject understanding, and exposing students to potential career paths in the industry.
