INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO SAKTHI SUGAR LIMITED

Place of visit – Sakthi Sugars private limited, Bavani and Bavani sagar Dam

We at Kikani never leave any stone unturned. Field trips at Kikani is organized and planned to reinforce experiential and contextual learning. An educational trip was organized for the students of Grade 12 on July 25th (Monday) to the Sakthi Sugars, Bavani and Bavani sagar Dam.

A total of 65 students and five teachers accompanied the team. Visit to Sakthi sugars was a real learning to students on various processes involved in the manufacturing of sugar. The students attained practical expertise and skills in comprehending the process of manufacturing sugar and alcohol. There was various
interaction with the professionals who were practitioners in the field, to integrate the application of finance, costing and supply chain management in daily arenas of operations and commerce. Students also had the opportunity to witness a live demonstration of the process and the high emphasis on quality, given by the professionals who work there. At Industry students were able to see and understand different
mechanical operation carried out in industry e.g. cutting, shredding, screening, centrifuging etc. Students have experienced the actual operations which are being taught in the classroom e.g. evaporation, crystallization etc. The aim of visit was fulfilled at the end of “SUGAR INDUSTRY” visit. Followed up by Bavani sagar dam. Students had a great time enjoying in bavani sagar dam. Thus the educational trip served as a platform for experiential learning. Students went home with lot of take away messages and beautiful memories that will cherish with them forever.
