JOY OF GIVING

The Joy of Giving event, an initiative aimed at spreading the spirit of kindness and generosity during Diwali, was carried out successfully over three days by the students of Grade 12. This initiative involved deputing Grade 12 students in three stages collection of contributions, stage two segregation of things and stage three visiting the oldage homes. From 16th to 21st October things were collected. On 22nd October children of Grade 12 visited three different orphanages in the city and distributing essential items collected through contributions made by students, staff, and the school community.

The event was formally initiated by *Correspondent Tushar, who flagged off the bus in the presence of the Principal, Vice Principal, and other leads of the event. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as the buses, driven by Pradeep sir, began their journey to the three orphanages.

Details of the Visit:

  1. Sree Illam – The first stop was at Sree Illam, an orphanage housing around 20 inhabitants. The students spent time interacting with the children, distributing clothes, apples, and groceries.
  2. Bharatha Annai Illam– On the second place, the team visited Bharatha Annai Illam, where 30 inhabitants were eagerly awaiting their arrival. The students spent time, distributed friuts, and essential items like groceries and hygiene products, fostering a sense of warmth and festivity.
  3. Annai Teresa Illam – The final stop was at Annai Teresa Illam, which accommodates between 30 to 40 cinhabitants. Here, the Grade 12 students, along with the accompanying staff, conducted a small cultural program to entertain the inhabitants sang for our children and blessed them for the board exmas. They also handed over contributions such as food items, clothes, and groceries.

The three-day event was not just about donations, but about creating meaningful interactions, spreading joy, and making a positive impact on the lives of those less fortunate. The Grade 12 students showcased leadership, compassion, and commitment in this initiative, embodying the true essence of Diwali – giving and caring for others.

This event concluded on a high note, with smiles all around and a deep sense of fulfillment shared by the students and staff who took part in this memorable experience.
