A Report on the Educational Trip to Ooty for Grade 10

An Educational Tour to Ooty was organized for Grade 10 on 20th July 2023.

The purpose of the visit was to gain practical insights into the tribal cultural aspects and industrial practices in the Nilgiris Hills.

The trip covered three locations: Toda Tribe Museum, Karnataka Garden, Tea Factory, and Benchmark Chocolate Factory.

Toda Tribe Museum

It is a cultural repository dedicated to preserving the heritage and lifestyle of the Toda Tribe, the museum offers insight with understanding the Toda Tribe traditions, rituals, clothing, and architecture. During the visit, we had the privilege of interacting with tribal people who explained about the cultural heritage of tribes.
Chocolate Factory

Ooty is renowned for its tea plantations and the factory offered behind scene glimpses of tea production. The visit commenced with a brief introduction of the history of tea and its growth and ended with a refreshing glass of tea to all the children.

Chocolate Factory

The trip ended with a visit to a chocolate factory that offered a fascinating tour around chocolate making and the process of various intricacies of the division of chocolates.
Overall it was an enriching experience. The tour offered a great understanding of the region’s culture and details of the industries.
