VISHU

April 13, 2023

A unique assembly was presented by students of class XII to commemorate the occasions. Tamil New Year VISHU.
“Vishukkani” literally means to “that which is seen first on Vishu” in Malayalam, where the word “kani” means “that which is seen first.” According to the conventional wisdom, viewing happy, auspicious things as the first thing on Vishu will make the New Year better. The programme was started off with our principal, Ms. Geetharaj, lighting the lamp, which was then followed by Kanikannal from grade 12 and 10 pupils. The Morning Prayer, which is said to bring calm and peace to our minds and spirits, was followed by the thought for the day to start off the gathering. Harini Tapsaya gave the opening speech. Harsitha Viswanthan and Khaviyasree had a chat in which they described the origins of commemorating various holidays. The grade XII student Krishna Vishak read a poem about the new year that was composed by Monish, Adithyaguru, and Jignesh.
