WETLAND DAY

The morning of 2nd February 2024 saw the Kikani Vidya Mandir ground hustling with students and faculties assembled for the WETLAND DAY assembly.
Grade 6 students took pride in presenting the assembly that started with a prayer to ascertain divine blessings. Thought for the days in connection to WETLAND CONSERVATION were read out in English, Hindi and Tamil. Students spoke about significance of WETLANDS and measures for conservation. The audience was well captivated by the talk show that echoed WETLAND CONSERVATION with students interacting about the wetlands in nearby areas like Kumarasamy lake, Ukkadam big tank, Valankulam and Singanallur and measures to conserve them. It was a cherished moment when the gathering took up the pledge for WETLAND CONSERVATION by promising to be WETLAND MITHRAS. Science faculty and Grade 6 class teacher Mrs.Latha spoke about the measures for WETLAND CONSERVATION. The colourful and informative backdrops added charm to the event.
Principal Mrs. Geetha Raj in her address, emphasised upon the conservation of wetlands being the top tier social responsibility. She applauded the efforts of Grade 6 students and faculties in presenting the assembly well.
Vote of thanks was delivered and everyone dispersed with a promise to conserve wetlands to preserve biodiversity. National Anthem was played on the guitar by the students.
